Week 13 - 3/21/12

We had our first appointment with Dr. Yu (MFM Doctor) on Wednesday, March 21st. So far everything is looking good. Baby is growing well and my cervix is measuring around 3cm. Dr. Yu was an interesting guy, he has his own theory on IC and doesn't think that it has to do much with anatomy but instead that it is all hormonal. Either way, he doesn't mind that I have a TAC in place and seems like he will be very thorough.

His plan is to begin cervical length checks at 16 weeks and do them every 2 weeks. We will also begin the P17 injections at this time.

Another interesting thing today :) He took a guess at the gender, and it looks like we might be expecting another little girl!! We'll confirm for sure in a few weeks. Either way, we are blessed and thankful that everything is going well so far. We pray that God will continue to keep things this way and we place this baby in his hands.

NT Scan - 3/19/12

You can't help but sit in awe when you see the miracle of life. We had our NT scan today and the baby looks like a baby! As much as I think that all is ok with me, there are times that I can't help but get emotional. Today is one of those "times". It's so hard to think about Sophia. I miss her. I will always wonder what she would have been like, who she would have looked like. I think God for this miracle and renewed opportunity for a baby, but a part of my heart continues to ache and yearn for the lost daughter.

I have a feeling this might be a little boy and if that's the case, he will have to understand why this blog dedicated to him is named "Waiting for Sophia" lol :)

I don't pray as much as I should. I find it so hard to do...not because I don't believe or because I don't understand the importance, I do it because a part of me wants to ignore the fact that we are waiting for this little one. I guess my approach right now is "out of sight, out of mind" but I need to get over that because I know that no one but God has the power to keep this little one safe.

I love you already baby.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for this miracle. There is no doubt in my mind that you are always there for us, when times are good and when times are bad. I give thanks that everything is going well so far and that the Dr.'s have been so understand. I pray for your continued protection over this baby. I know that you and only you are knitting him/her together Father and that you already know every day that you have ordained for him. I pray that you would give us peace and faith in you, knowing that you are in control of this entire situation. Help us get through these days. Give my Dr.'s guidance and knowledge to do everything necessary to keep things going well for us. I pray that you would calm or fears and fill our hearts with your peace. In Jesus name, AMEN.

Week 10 - 3/8/12

This is the first of many (or hopefully not so many) cervical length checks. So far things are looking great. My cervix measured 3.5cm and felt thick and closed. I think I know more about my cervix than I ever imagined. Thanking God for things looking great and hopeful that they will continue the same as the weeks pass.

Here is baby at 10 weeks. I think I see some arms lol :)

Week 8 - 2/22/12

Baby is getting bigger! Hard to see in this picture but it's growing. Can't wait till we find out what we're having.

Week 6 - 2/10/12

We got to see our new little miracle for the first time today and I think it's still sinking in. So far everything is ok and our main point for this ultrasound was to confirm that everything looked ok so far and most importantly that we had a heartbeat.

It's so hard not to worry, but like I've said it before we have to trust in God and pray for a healthy little one come Sept. 2012.

Here we go again!

We still miss you so much Sophia. The holidays  were hard but we've managed to find strength in God and each other to be ok. Natalie made this cookie because she remembers you more than anyone.

Getting the TAC was our first step to a new miracle and on Saturday night, 01/21/12 we found out that a miracle is already on it's way! I think we're still in shock. We haven't told anyone because we want to wait until everything is further along.

I am trying hard to be at peace and not be anxious. I give this entire situation to God. No matter what happens, we will praise Him. We are hopeful that the TAC will be our saving grace (along with God's grace of course) and so far everything seems good. I am 6 weeks today according to my LMP. So that's our news....the question now is..boy or girl :)

TAC Day-12/16/11

The day is finally here!! After a long painful journey with IC, God has blessed us in a way that is beyond words! Losing Sophia was the biggest heart break for me and left me feeling so empty. I set out in search of an answer and praise God, I found Abbyloopers and all of the wonderful women on there. It didn't take much to convince me that I the only thing that would give me hope of another baby was the TAC.

After deal with the insurance and realizing it wasn't going to get approved, we decided to pay for the surgery ourselves. I had a phone consult with Dr. Davis and new immediately that he was a God send. We flew out on Wednesday, Dec. 14th and met up with him for my pre-op on Thursday. He was great! His kind words and reassurance convinced me that I was exactly where I needed to be. My TAC went extremely well and I got to meet a fellow Abbysister, Teresa (we even took the same flight from LAX lol).

Here we are, ready for this life changing event and Dr. Davis even took the time to pose with us for a quick picture :)

Thank you Lord for your blessings! For leading us to Dr. Davis and for giving us the means to pay for the surgery when the insurance wouldn't come through for us.

Anxiously awaiting to be wheeled to the OR.
